I feel like blogging again. Wondrous isn’t it?

So we just played the Way Out West festival in Gothenburg and I’m sitting here drenched in sweat trying to push back my adrenaline level. I’m should be out of bed and off to work in about 3 hours. Yay.

Thanks to everyone who came out tonight, it was a true blast. I never believe in what we do, I hate our live set as soon as the first note starts to play but tonight I guess we proved me wrong. A room full of people singing along to an R Kelly bootleg doesn’t lie. Special thanks of course to Kristoffer who wouldn’t shut up about the dancefloor bloodbath he hadhe was planning. Though I guess it mostly the lager speaking.

Right, Brian Eno seems to do the trick. He always does. Off to dream land.

Right. So I admit I watched ESC last night. It’s part of my line of work and cross my heart, I giggled a lot and found some of the tunes quite funky. Then there was Dima Bilan who apparently won the whole thing. (I switched off right after the music ended, couldn’t stand the hosts.) I’m sure I wasn’t the only one feeling a bit confused by the fact that his performance was a huge pile of Too Muchness, so much that someone, somewhere was bound to say “Look Dima, we know you’re going for knock out but this is a tad Too Much. Figure skating is fine but the guy with the Stradivarius needs to kick the Hammerfall posing habit and you look a lot better standing up than lying on your back in some kind of supermodelesqueish pose.” How naive I was.

After seeing the video for the actual song (where, inexplicably, I still can’t interpret his english accent) I understand that all of this is part of a grand plan. World cheese domination. Remember friends – we need to save the cihldren!!!

Tecktonik is dead. A shame really but we should try to focus on the positive memories we pretend to have.

I have to admit though, it’s been a long long time since I laughed this hard.

There’s something fishy about the reasoning here. It’s not like the Dafts are unknown in R’n'B-land ever since the Kanye-thing. And The Klaxons should know better than to climb into this most sacred of dance music symbols of late. Still, cool show, wicked lasers.

Clubbing in Sweden sucks at the moment. Looks like I’m gonna have to dig out my passport because this looks like concentrated Fun.

Organizing things in list makes them easier to read, comprehend & process. Thus, a list of stuff I’ve been up to lately.

• Watching movies in the company of Birger Jarlska Filmsällskapet.  Dwarfs, monsters, monsters, monsters and stuff mostly.
• Playing video games.
• Playing Final Fantasy XII in particular.
• Sleeping.
• Hanging out at Ted’s office ’til four in the morning getting hammered just for the sake of it.
• Working myself through our Steinbeck library. I’m halfway through. The message seems to be that most women are severely traumatized and enjoy being raped. And most men are severely traumatized and enjoy raping women. (How’s that for a fucked up win/win situation?)
• Writing songs. Music’s fun again! Whee!
• Setting up encrypted remote desktop connections for Linux. Seriously, shouldn’t it be easier? It’s 2008 after all.

Next thing I’m gonna do is start swimming. Scout’s honor.

This right here is thee reason why Michael Jackson is obsolete. I hope you all refrain from falling for the cheap reissue trick and give much deserved love to the likes of McKnight instead. Now if the man would actually record a new album that didn’t stink, that would be a whole other thing. But until that day, can we please forget about that bullet dodging court-pro?

Back to my old patterns of little to no sleep. At least this time I’m pretty sure what’s causing it – a long period of constant stress finally ending over the past two weeks followed by a weekend I pretty much slept through. And just when my heart rate is approaching normal. Bang. Workload at 9to5 goes through the roof. In a good way I guess. Still. Damn adrenaline.

Note to self – make sure to use holidays for other things than work and saying goodbye to people.

I’m learning to play the guitar again. Naturally I’m slightly depressed that I will never be an Olov, and definitely not a Martin but if I keep playing my 7 safe chords long enough I’m sure they’ll transform into music soon enough.

Sleep deserves a second chance.
